Our last Easter break weekend

Well the weekend is over sadly. This means the byos are back to school and Andy back to work well Mason and I are left to our own devices all day. This weekend has been amazing though. Saturday we went to Minden again for some hiking, we took the trail less traveled in some places which I don't recommend if like me you like wearing sandels whereever you go (thankfully no tick bites). Got to watch a mouse jumping through the leaves though (very cute) and even blow bubbles along the way.

We finally reached the top of the mountain where we found Kaiser-Wilhelm-monument. Now this is a 88 meter high statue of empire Kaiser in a 120 meter dome. Now so you all know Kaiser Wilhelm was King of Prussia; became the first Kaiser (Emperor) of a united Germany. This was definatly a site to see and the veiw as well was something breath taking. We enjoyed the veiw of all of Minden and retelling the story to the boys of the old sage which I have copied off for you all to yourself enjoy.
The emergence of the Porta Westpfalica

Once, in ancient times, the devil tormented the inhabitants of the Weser river valley to serve him, but they would not. Since he dammed the Wallücke, a ravine in the mountains near mountain churches in the northeast to the parts of the circles "Herford" proper rule Vlotho, by which the Weser poured their water into the plains to the north, and now swelled the stream of the valley and rose almost to the crown of the mountain. The people escaped to the mountains, but the water was always higher and increasing the suffering of the poor. Suddenly a thunderstorm and a huge storm, a bolt of lightning tore the mountains and formed a gorge through the mountain charter flowed from the water, and the valleys and shadows were gradually free. When the devil saw that his game was spoiled, he flew into a rage, rose in the air rushed into the heights, grabbed a whole mountain, took him on his back and wanted him stuff in the gorge and zudämmen so the mountain Charte . But the burden he was traveling too heavy on the border of present-day Lippi's country, he fell with his burden to the ground and the mass buried him. The level is still the Bonstapel or Bobenstapel, and still is the devil sit there and rumble of time to time. The gorge, but is the "Porta Westfalica. According to another legend, the whole Wesertal used to be a huge lake, until God sent an earthquake, where, it was then broken in the waters of local mountains and are hinabgeströmt path to the sea. But when the country became independent, as they started to build it first and has Ahe, then Fischbeck, both at the Weser, and then built at the foot of Deckbergen Süntel; that have been the first villages in the area.

The next day was again a beautiful one so we decided to go to the park and spend some good old quality time with one another blowing bubbles, kicking the ball around, enjoying a picnic and even playing on the jungle gym! Was a bash and the boys slept onece again like logs through the night!
