Ethans Behaviour

Well Monday wasn't the best of days. I dropped Ethan off at school and questioned the teacher about his behaviour (he has been quiet naughty the last couple weeks and progressively getting worse). Well His teacher agreed he has been naughty and has said if it continues it will start to effect his learning! I was mortified, I am such a bad mom, What am I doing wrong, All these things ran through my head as I went home as fast as I could nearly in tears. Well soon it was home time and Ethan was home again he ran upstairs and I realised he had wet himself!!!! I was lost for words Ethan my 4 year old who by 1.5 was potty trained had wet himself, something is defiantly up. so I sat him down and talked to him and nothing came of it he knows he is being naughty but has no excuse for it and says nothing is upsetting him. So that night was sat and talked and realised Andy has only come home from a 3 month exercise so MAYBE having another person in charge in the house is the problem (That and attention is being split now 4 ways.)

So we changed bedtimes to Mason 6pm, Caleb 6:30, Ethan 7 so now Ethan has 30 minutes 1 on 1 time with us (Mason has this well the boys are at school and Caleb when he is home form school as Mason naps and Ethan is still at school for 3 hours.) So we have done this now since Monday and it seems to be working. I also introduced a chore chart with 10 tasks each boy has a choice of completing for 5 cents per chore (This has been working VERY good). I got the idea from http://www.simplemom.com So now we have some routine in our crazy life style and all seems to have calmed.

Tuesday We had a blizzard and WOW it was cold. Rain/snow and VERY cold wind all at the same time made for a hellish walk home from drop off. I never really did much apart from clean and bring Caleb and Mason to the ball park.

Wednesday was a brilliant day! Ethan has realised what he has been doing and in the morning when we were walking to school turned to me and said I've been really naughty to my teacher mommy Umm YES and us too (I never said that, I did however agree to what he was saying. It was forgotten until we got to school and he apologised to his teacher! Andy picked him up from school and brought him food shopping and guess what! REALISATION number 2!!!! Ethan told Andy he has been mean to mommy and then refused to leave the store until he bought me flowers and chocolate! He came home handed them to me and apologised! We later had my friend Vicky and her two little ones over for dinner and though he was a little hyper (given they all were excited) he was really good and when it was bedtime went without complaint!

So now here we are at Thursday Here is to a good one with no fighting or annoyance or bad behaviour.

Wow! Ethan has grown so much. Good to hear from you again. Glad Ethan is so aware of his actions.
