Ethan turns 6, Schools Out for Summer, Camping in Drumheller, Canada day and more...

Wow well it's been busy!!!!!!

On Tuesday the bell rang to let the boys out for summer holidays, I walked to Ethan's class to hear them all singing happy birthday to him which actually brought tears to my eyes. My little man is 6 now!!!!! He got spoilt with gifts earlier in the morniing to which included a brand new bike.

Well as you can imagine the boys were dead excited to see what adventures the summer would being and we were excited as we had packed the car and were also geared up and ready. So after 3 hours of Driving we came to Dinosaur trail park which is a GREAT camping spot in Drumheller. We enjoyed birthday cake and played in the park before having an early night.
The next Day we headed to the Royal Tyrell Museum and enjoyed the amazing array of dinosaurs, fossils and bones. The Royal Tyrell for those of you who don't know has more dinosaur skeletons then anywhere in the world! We enjoyed lunch with some ground hogs then headed back to camp for some swimming and hiking.
The next morning we headed straight to the star mine suspention bridge that was build in 1912. The bridge was once used by miners to access the Star Mine on the other side of the Red Deer Rive. We crossed the bridge and enjoyed our adventure of hiking and finding snakes at 32 degree's Celsius.

We then enjoyed some lunch before making our way to the infamous HooDoos, these stand 5 to 7 feet tall and take millions of years to form. They are sandstone pillars that stand on a thick base of shale and are capped by a large stone. So we spent time looking at the amazing beauty of these then decided time for ANOTHER hike and climb.

Next we were off Atlas coal mine national historic site which is home to Canada’s last-standing wooden tipple mine. With a guide, you can climb up inside the giant tipple for a close-up look at its miles of conveyor belts and massive machinery. We never did this but did wander around looking at the amazing old buildings and machinery then jumped on a coal train and took a tour with a differant group.
Next day we got to celebrate Canada, We headed into the town to watch a parade roll through giving candy and treats like mad to the kids, it was really nice and my sister Belinda even managed to come out for a few hours.
i
After the Parade finished we headed to the splash park which was also holding a few stalls and had the worlds biggest dinosaur statue right there!!!!!
We then headed to Oshea's where uncle Jose pulled Ethan's 2nd loose tooth out. Ethan was very excited about this. From there we headed to bumper boats and mini golf at a small amusments. Mason fell asleep so it was nice to have some time with the older boats enjoying our time. a uick peak around the Homestead museum and we were off again to the camp site.
The next day we headed to the Bleriot ferry which is one of very few engine powered free ferries left in the world. We made this crossing which was quite quick and then headed to a view point where we enjoyed a picnic and hike before heading back to the camp ground.
At camp we bought some icecream where you got to make your own (the boys loved this), then went swimming as it was 32 above! we spent the rest of our night at camp and even part took in kareokee (ok only Caleb did) I was so proud as my son sang Oh canada in from of about 60 people!
We woke up to head home the next day making 1 stop at the little church.
